Hiregy recently released its 2016 Hiring Trends report, our annual review of the previous year’s hiring activity, wages and salaries, along with an analysis of trends to watch for in the coming months. The report includes data from Tampa, Orlando and surrounding communities. It’s free of charge and can be downloaded here.
Central Florida companies increased hiring in 2015, continuing a trend that started to emerge in 2014. Our region saw a surge in healthcare, insurance, and customer service hiring, while also adding jobs in construction, one of the last sectors to bounce back from the 2008 economic crisis. Human resource professionals were also in demand as companies grappled with managing the flow of candidates through recruiting, hiring, training and onboarding.
Increased hiring over the past year was accompanied by wage growth in many sectors. For the first time since the downturn, many businesses found themselves in a talent war – a battle that is continuing in 2016. Job seekers are looking for new opportunities, with exceptional candidates being selective about the positions they pursue.
